After seeing the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concretre all over IG I finally ordered it and am obsessed. The popular French drug store brand has a lot of fans and now I understand why. First off it’s only $20 which is great considering I am obsessed with Magic Cream that is $100…so my wallet is happy. I have been using it for about a week now and love the way my skin feels and more importantly how my makeup lays on it, not too heavy! A little goes a long way and make sure to warm it up with your fingers before applying.
Second new skin care purchase was the newest eye cream from Glossier. I love so many of their products so this was a no brainer. Honestly, I can never tell if an eye cream is working but I like the consistency and again how my makeup lays under it.
Ways to use your Truffle Bag
I had always seen Truffle bags around town but have enough Glossier bags to last me so I never got one for myself. My gal, Cat, got me one for my birthday last week and so far I love it! For you single or non-married girls there is that point in a relationship when you start traveling with a small cosmetic bag for nighttime skincare. Nothing that would scare the guy away if they saw how much you were traveling with (ease them into that) but enough to get your makeup off and get some type of p.m skincare. This small bag is perfect for that, it fits my mini face wash samples and one full-size oil/serum!
Second use, lipglosses! Was also kindly gifted this nude set that fits perfectly for weeks when I want all the options. Right now my go-to’s are Charlotte Tilbury lip liner + Nars Orgasm Lip Balm or Clarins gloss.

Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant
My parents went to France a few weeks ago and the only thing I asked was they go to the Biologique Recherche and get me some goodies! My mom is the best did so and brought me back a few things including a sample of the Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant mask. After doing research and using ONCE I ordered the full size! “They,” say that if you use two times a week you will never age…I cannot speak to that because that is a big promise but I will say that my skin is straight up glowing and so firm after I use it!
BR is not known for having “pretty” products but effective. It is super thick and smells bad but you don’t need a lot so this one bottle is going to last me a long time! It is a balancing mask made with Yeast, Cucumber, and Witch Hazel extracts renowned for their skin purifying properties!
I have mentioned this before but BR products can be a little harder to come by in the states but the website linked above is super easy to make an account with!
Current Beauty Obsessions
A few new products have been serious game changers in my day to day beauty routine. First up is this lip combo: Nars Orgasm Lip Balm + Charlotte Tilbury Lip Liner in Pillow Talk. I got the liner a few months ago after IRL friends and bloggers were posting about it ended up loving the color but did not use it very often. So you know about Nars Orgasm, the universal blush that is the bomb dot calm on everyone? Well, Nars recently came out with new products in the orgasm color! The lip color I got is more of a balm with light color and shimmer in it, perfect for everyday use. The liner came into play when I was unpacking my makeup bag and had this ‘ah ha’ moment of I think these two colors would look killer together….and they did!
The second favorite is the Joanna Vargas revitalizing eye cream! The consistency and scent are perfect, not too thick, absorbs into my skin quickly and smells so fresh! Eye creams with a pump sometimes make me nervous because if too much comes out it feels like a waste, thankfully the perfect amount comes out each time making it super easy to layer on my makeup.
Summer 2018 Skincare Routine
My Charlotte Tilbury obsession grew this Summer! I already was a fan of her foundation but I am not legit addicted to Flawless Filter!! I wear it every day and have only worn foundation maybe twice in the past 3 months. It gives light coverage but mainly a serious glow that makes me feel put together without looking heavy.
Wondering what color to get? I started with shade 2 and liked it fine but currently, am using shade 1 on days when I am not fake tanning and shade 2 on days where I am. I can’t say I see a HUGE difference in the colors which is kind of nice.
So everymorning goes like this: chemical exfoliant, magic cream moisturizer, flawless filter, glossier under eye, blush, highlighter, mascara. Does it get any easier? I have seen a ton of bloggers talk about Charlotte Tilbury beauty light wand and I now get it! The dork in me is extra obsessed because there is an on/off twist so its just wasting product was smashed in your makeup bag. Once dabbed on I use a beauty blender to blend that goodness in! On days where I want everything a little less, ‘is she sweating or is she glowing?’ I use the Charlotte Tilbury Air Brush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Powder.
Nightly Skincare Routine
I am not sitting in my bed in these photos because it’s on theme with the blog post title…I do my nightly skincare routine in bed. I am that person and proud of it!
Makeup remover wipes, I go through serious phases with these, either I am a huge fan or hate them. Right now I am a fan but only of the Target brand ones. Random, I know but I have a theory. Months ago I was at Target and bought them because they are cheaper than the Neutrogena ones. There was no film or leftover residue after using them so I was pleased. Fast forward and I was at Kroger where of course my beloved Target wipes are not sold so I got the Neutrogena ones. This brand swap of makeup remover wipes was the only thing I changed in my nightly skincare and my skin freaked! Aka next time you are at Target I highly suggest picking these up!
Now I know I mentioned that I do all of this in bed, which is usually the case but if on the off chance I am normal human and not doing this in bed I will double cleanse. Don’t have a particular cleanser I will use, just whichever I am in the mood for but I rotate between Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem, Tata Harper (part of a Nord Anniversary Sale bundle), and Laura Mercier Flawless Skin. j
Sunday Riley Good Genes + Luna Night Oil. Some say you shouldn’t mix retinol (night oil) and lactic acid (good genes). I am with the latter camp and just listen to my skin, if it feeling extra sensitive that day I will just go with the oil and be a little gentler. Without fail, I wake up and my skin feels even toned and ready to take on the day!
Top it all off with Khiels eye cream, lots of Glossier Balm Dot Calm and hand lotion!
