Sunday Riley Luna Night Oil, here is what claim:
- boost the look and feel of skin plumpness
- improving wrinkles, redness and pores
- has retinol for texture
- a few essential oils and other ingredients, that means nothing to you and me, that are there to help with the redness and even-toned complexion.
I started using Sunday Riley Night Oil in Nashville and woke up that next morning with even-toned and soft skin! That first night I made a point to use nothing else so I could really try and see if this specific product did something. Usually, when you throw on a couple of new products it’s hard to tell which is the one working. So after that first night, I was sold…and have been using it every night since! Waking up with this calm skin is a DREAM and helping go back to my goal of not having to feel like I HAVE to wear foundation. The nights I plan on not using it are when I will use an overnight mask but right now I am thinking that will be the only exception.
The product comes in two sizes, you can totally get away with the smaller size. I do! Sephora calls it “mini” which annoys me because it’s not mini, it is plenty!
There is a new video on my “youtube channel” …HA. Top fall lipsticks I think you should have in your makeup bag. This is short and sweet because the video really is more entertaining than reading what I have to think about lipsticks….right?
Thanks to a work perk I got two Dr. Dennis Gross products a few months ago that I have been using nonstop. I know his products are pricey but I don’t feel like a total ass hole suggesting them after getting them for free because I continue to purchase the alpha beta peel pads and did buy the serum!
Catch up on my full thoughts on the peel pads, here, but all you need to know is that they are life changing! Also, cut them in half you don’t NEED the entire thing and it saves $$!
Ok so first up, Clinical Concentrate Hydration Booster. It is a moisturizing serum that I use as a moisturizer! My main thing with daytime moisturizers is I feel that my makeup looks heavy on top of them. Once the weather cools down I will probably add in a light one but for now, this has been perfect on its own!
This again is a serum that “Replenish hydration with microdroplets of this weightless, greaseless serum containing hyaluronic acid, evening primrose oil, and coconut fruit juice to instantly hydrate and plump skin, smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles”. It never makes my makeup cakey, they even recommend mixing it with your foundation which I need to try. I have been using this almost daily and my makeup has been staying put and my skin doesn’t dry out sitting in blasting AC all day.
Now to his real moisturizer: C+ Collagen Deep Cream that “An intense concentration of nourishing oils extracted from camellia japonica seed, sunflower seed, and rice bran provide rich moisture to repair skin’s barrier and reduce trans-epidermal water loss. Revive dry, lackluster, aging skin into a plumped, energized, and brighter complexion.” I use this one at night after beta peel pads and a few other things and wake up feeling refreshed and hydrated….never greasy! Note: I did use this today under my makeup because my skin was drier than normal. So far I am pleased with the results!
The C+ Collagen Serum is something I haven’t been able to tell what it is doing. I mentioned in a previous beauty post that I find it hard to notice serums change. Which is probably bad considering that they are priced higher and suppose to be more potent. I have a few skin issues I need to tackle before I think serums start revealing their true power on my skin. To be honest, I bought this because I was exchanging a mask I didn’t think was worth the quantity and wanted something new 🙂 eeek I am bad.
So as you can see there is a new beauty video on my youtube….normal people would say “omg totes subscribe to my channel” but I never post so don’t waste your follow haha.
Hope you like the video!! Ask any questions you may have about specific products or how I use them!
As I start this I am wondering why I only do these in-depth reviews on Glossier products and nothing else….would you want reviews on more products?
So glossier body hero. Let me preface with a few things about my body product habits. I don’t have any, it’s the lowest on my totem pole. I use dove cucumber soap, a range of different shampoos (will randomly splurge) and don’t use lotion. Actually, I kind of hate lotion and will only use it when it’s for dry patches that 100% need some love. The feel of lotion on my skin I have never enjoyed, it’s sticky and you can’t put on clothes right away; it’s just a pain and when I get my nails done I ask they skip it.
BUT I had to give this a shot, just the in glossier body hero body wash, I skipped the lotion of this new duo. First off, love that it is in a pump so that is a plus. It comes out in a medium to light thickness oil and when it touches wet skin thickens up into more of a body wash feel. It was not hard at all to rinse off and didn’t feel like it was sticking around on my skin. The smell is nice, I don’t know how to describe it..not citrusy but not super floral either I dunno! One of the reasons I think I naturally shy away from tons of body products is I am a freak and smells stick in my nose. I don’t believe that is a real thing but it happens to me. The scent of this is there but not WOW what did you use this morning? But I can lightly still smell it on my skin. I am mainly curious to see how it will be in the winter when my skin is drier, but then again I live in constant humidity now so….but my skin doesn’t feel like it has anything on it which was my #1 concern!!
Cloud Paint….got it in dusk because I feel like I have enough blushes at the moment and my powder contour shattered. It’s nice, you really don’t need a lot hence the small package. The color is great too, not orangey and but not too brown. I would recommend all of the colors purely on the consistency.
wow the difference in that two reviews haha!
Paper City is a Texas magazine with publications in Houston and Dallas, covering society events, fashion, culture and all of the jazz. It isn’t something I regularly read but as I was waiting for food the other day I picked it up. For the September issue, they teamed up with Net-A-Porter for an amazing multi page feature. Part of this was an interview with Sunday Riley, the person not just the brand.
You can read the entire magazine here but some of the highlights/quotes!
“Without a doubt, I think it’s imperative that everyone should have a stable Vitamin C product, a retinoid, and a good exfoliating acid serum in their skin care”
“I cleanse my skin with oil and balm cleansers only, sticking with Blue Mood Cleansing Balm and CEO Microdissolce Cleansing Oil and Vitamin C. I then apply Good Genes Lactic Acid Serum three times a week in the evenings to remove pore-clogging debris and help brighten the appearance of my skin.”
“Vitamin C is a phenomenal ingredient for brightening the surface of the skin and reducing the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation.”
“Luna is an incredibly effective retinoid treatment, without the harsh irritation of many retinoid products…I always advocate starting with Vitamin C and retinol and building out your regiment from there”
“If you have acne, try UFO Acne Treatment Face Oil with 1.5 percent salicylic acid. It works wonders on cystic acne, and doesn’t have the drying effects of traditional salicylic acid treatments.”
