If you have been a long time follower of The Locus of Style, you know that basics are my bread & butter while statement pieces are more rare. Recently I haven’t been posting as many basic outfits on here because I think I felt like I was doing tooo much of it for a while but I am bringing it back! They are realistic outfits that always make me feel best.

In the past few months I have posted about my F21 mules (actually in spring basics pt.1)…saying you don’t need to always invest in trends and these shoes are great blah blah. While I still agree that you do not always have to invest in trends I do regret pushing the f21 mules so much bc I f-ing hate them. I get blisters every time without fail if I wear them for more than out to dinner. I had always loved these Vince ones so when there on sale a few weeks ago I snagged them and haven’t looked back.
Do you have any recent purchase regrets?
You look fabulous! I love the basic white tee and Jean combo. It’s one of my go-tos as well. Those shoes I definitely need to get my hands on. I am obsessed with them!
Basics are the way to life! Without the basics, you can’t have a staple wardrobe to style your statement pieces around. Those mules and ripped-hem jeans are perfect staples for the Spring + Summer. Plus, everyone needs a plain white tee in their closet. No questions asked.

Like you, my favorite are basics. They’re easy, comfy and easy to style. I would totally wear this look!
I have been looking for white tee that are great quality and last long. How do you like that one?

The one i am wearing is actually an old Tildon brand that i couldnt find…but I have Currentt Elliot ones that are the same to me as cheepie ones!
I totally love how honest you got about those f21 mules! I so often receive pieces from a company that I love love love at first and then after a couple of wears I’m totally unenthused. But my most recent frustration was a tee I got from H&M that ended up warping at the hem when I washed it after only one wear! Boo! But I’m loving your basics here, girl!

Oh dear, there are so many things I regret buying, actually still hanging in the closet with price tags on them. It seemed like a great idea at the time, but then seemed totally useless in everyday (or any day) use. Mostly it comes down to comfort though. I’ve regretted so many pairs of shoes which I’ve basically not been able to walk in, no matter how good they looked and making my heels look like the results of some kind of civil war between my feet, haha. I’m glad you’re honest about your regrets though.

I’m beyond obsessed with these tan mules. This look is so timeless, the perfect go to look for any type of summer activity!
