So I was getting ready for my 1 year anniversary dinner date and wanted to wear something “sexy” but quickly realized, don’t own that!! Going out and date night outfits have always been hard for me because short hemlines aren’t really my thing. But sometimes you want to look “guy hot”, ya know?! Well, I think a lot of you do know because I got a huge response after posting an IG story talking about how the only “date night” type blouse I have is a black Cami NYC. Is it a great go-to? Yes, but it has been my go-to for 3+ years and feels a little stale.
While working on this roundup of date night pieces for the girl who isn’t overly sexual with her dressing, ya know prefers ruffles – I got chatting with my boyfriend and his roommate. Is anything they said new? Absolutely not, but the main takeaways were, mini skirts aren’t all that, “would rather a fitted skirt or jean shorts because mini skirts don’t show any shape”. So I take that as a win because I don’t see myself buying a mini skirt anytime soon.
While searching the interwebs I found it hard to find items I liked that fit the following boxes 1) low to minimal frill 2) fitted 3) not so far outside the comfort zone.
Hope you enjoy and are inspired!
It is that time again when Shopbop makes our Spring and Summer fashion dreams come true through a sale!
You will save 20% on orders under $500 and 25% on orders over $500….easy peasy!
Few things you should have this season:
- Collection of good tee shirts, I am obsessed with Karla x Hanes, they have the best prices and the fit is amazing!
- Fresh denim, my favorites are always Mother, Citizen of Humanity and Levis!
- A few good splurge items that you are obsessed with, Ulla Johnson, Sea, and Banjanan are always my go to.
- Colorful and bold earrings, Cult Gia and Lele are the best of the best and worth every penny!
I know that is not the most thrilling collage but I really am obsessed with all of these things!
It is that time of year again, where the mega sales start rolling through and you feel pressured to buy all the things!! Wait, do you not get that like? If you don’t I envy you, if you just ignore the sales, more power to you! I personally get overwhelmed, buy nothing and then mentally kick myself a few weeks later when I am bored of my closet. So this year I am making a plan, well really a list of the things I feel my closet is lacking. From there I will only look at those items while browsing the sales this week/weekend.
Blouses, don’t know what kind, in the cooler months I tend to only wear sweaters and want options
Bottoms that are not jeans oh but also a pair of black non-skinny jeans!
In lieu of a “Black Friday” post, I am going to round up some things I am obsessed with now that are either already on sale or have a 99% of being on sale this weekend. Speaking of sales that are already happening, Shopbop launched their sale today that is buy more save more 11/20-11/25! Aka get your entire list with one checkout! Sidenote: Texas/kitty loving ladies, you need this shirt!
Will be back throughout the week to update with more sales but for now its Shopbop or bust!
Sometimes I am surprised there has not been a site or platform that has taken over Etsy, it has been around forever! In the past year, it has become my go-to for all things home decor in the antique/vintage realm. My Hmong pillowcases on my couch, glasses, and accessories for my bar cart, dishes for both side tables, ring glass and more!
In the past year I have a list of a few shops that I check in with every few weeks to see what they have or what I missed in the past. Have learned that when vintage shopping if you are looking for something specific you tend to overlook gems that aren’t on your radar at that exact moment.
Do you know about Everything But The House? It is an estate sale website that has everything from jewelry to cars. I got the snake chain shown above that I have been wearing multiple times a week from EBTH and she came in perfect condition. You bid on items similarly to eBay but on a chic-er website!
